Hey guys. March Madness is back. Few tickets left for our April event (below). If you’re new here, welcome. Let’s get into it.

📕 DAD WISDOM

You Find What You’re Looking For

I was listening to something the other day that stuck with me.

When someone asks how we’re doing, it’s easy to focus on the negatives. Busy. Tired. Stressed. Not enough time. Too much going on.

And to be fair… that stuff is real. But there was a line that hit: you find what you’re looking for.

If you go looking for what’s wrong, you’ll find plenty of it. If you go looking for what’s good, that’s there too.

Dad life is the perfect example. It’s hard. Loud. Repetitive. A lot of moving pieces. Easy to get stuck in the grind of it all.

But there’s also a lot of good hiding in plain sight. A random laugh. A quick hug. A moment where everything just clicks for a second.

Nothing changes about the day. Just what you notice. So ya, keep looking for the good.

SMALL TALK

ICYMI - Dropped a new section last week.

A couple random facts you probably don’t need to know… but might come in handy the next time you're standing around at a kid’s birthday party making awkward conversation with another dad you barely know.

  • Dads today spend nearly 3x more time with their kids than they did in 1965. Still feels like we’re all just trying to survive bedtime.

  • Reading one picture book a day exposes kids to about 78,000 words a year. Which is impressive considering you’ve read the same book 400 times.

  • Nearly 40% of kids ages 3–5 spend an hour or less outside on weekdays. “Go play outside” might officially be a competitive advantage.

DAD GEAR

Go-To Spring Shirt

The perfect spring shirt usually has a past life. This go-to shirt from Flint and Tinder draws on 1940s Army gear…reverse sateen that’s soft where it matters and durable where it counts.

Easy to wear now, better after a few seasons of real use.

The Midlife Pivot (MINDSET)

Giphy

At some point, the game flips. It stops being about what you can get… and starts being about who you can build.

That shift, according to a long-running Harvard study, is the difference between guys who feel stuck and guys who actually enjoy their lives.

More money? Barely moves the needle. Helping your kid, mentoring someone at work, showing up for your people? That’s the stuff that compounds.

The guys who ignored relationships? Regret. The guys who invested in others? Better health, better life, longer runway.

New mindset shift: stop chasing upgrades, start creating them.

Hat tip to Arnold’s Pump Club for surfacing the research.
