Some Good Ol' Fashioned Grit

Plus - add this to your everyday carry.

In partnership with

Sup dads. Hope y’all had a good weekend. How about that Georgia/Bama game!

I spent the last few days in NYC getting my ass handed to me (in a good way) by the fine folks at Ten Thousand Apparel on a 3-day masterclass centered around fitness and performance. While I can’t feel my legs today, I learned a ton so I’ll drop some nuggets below.

The Roosevelt Courage

"It is not the critic who counts... The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena." - Theodore Roosevelt

Parenting is your arena, dads. It's messy, it's challenging, and you'll make mistakes. But you're showing up, and that's what counts.

James Lawrence AKA The Iron Cowboy

Meet James Lawrence, aka the Iron Cowboy. This dude completed 50 Ironman triathlons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days. Yeah, you read that right. But here's the kicker - he did all this while being a dad to five kids. I heard him speak over the weekend and I gotta tell ya - he’s the real deal.

One of the most striking takeaways from James's talk was how he's cultivated a powerful mindset in his children through their involvement in his extraordinary fitness challenges.

By witnessing their dad push the boundaries of what's possible, these kids have developed an unshakeable belief that anything can be achieved, regardless of what others might think or say.

They've learned to dream big and ignore the naysayers - a priceless gift that James has given them through his own example. It's a powerful reminder of how our actions as parents can shape our children's outlook on life and their own potential.

Maybe we can't all run 50 Ironmans, but we can all strive to show our kids that with determination and grit, the impossible becomes possible. If you need a little inspiration, watch his documentary here.

The Leatherman Bond

In honor of slinging survival tools for 41 years, Leatherman just dropped the Bond. This should be added to your everyday carry because you just never know when you might need it.

5 Supplements Everyone Should Take

Another standout speaker at the event was Dr. Jamie Schehr, a trailblazer in the health and wellness industry.

One of the key takeaways from Dr. Schehr's talk was her advice on essential supplements.

Here's what she recommends as a foundation for optimal health:

  • Probiotic

  • Fish oil

  • Fiber

  • Magnesium

  • Vitamin D
