Hey y’all. Hope you had an awesome Father’s Day. I kicked things off with a morning surf session alongside fellow Dad Day subscriber Robert Huffman, then treated the fam to some proper BBQ. Solid day all around.
Here’s what’s on tap…
Teach ‘em young
From broke to HGTV
A foam cannon
What’s under the hood?
Let’s get into it.

📕 DAD WISDOM
Build the Bridge Before They Cross It
Something shifts as kids get older. You start to feel this pull to teach them stuff; how to talk to adults without sounding like a wet noodle, how to handle money, how to eventually leave the house and not come crawling back to your basement.
That’s not random. That’s your dad instinct kicking in.
As Art of Manliness puts it, our job as dads during the teen years is to build the scaffolding to independence. To help them make that slow, awkward transition from “what’s for dinner?” to “I got it covered.”
It’s not about perfection — it’s about progress. Take them on errands. Have them order their own food. Let them see how you interact in the world. These small reps add up.
Because fatherhood isn’t just about protection. It’s preparation.

RAD DAD
Clint Harp

Before he was building custom furniture for Fixer Upper, Clint Harp was broke, out of work, and hauling scrap wood around in his minivan. He had three young kids at home and a gut feeling that his life was meant for more than spreadsheets and sales meetings.
Clint took a leap and started building furniture in a borrowed shop in Waco, TX and eventually linked up with Chip and Joanna Gaines.
“We had no money, three kids, and I was building furniture in a borrowed shop. But I was finally doing something I believed in—and my kids were watching me do it.”
Now he runs Harp Design Co., hosts his own shows, and continues to live in Waco with his family. But more than anything, Clint’s story is about trusting your gut, betting on yourself, and showing your kids what that looks like.

DAD TOYS
Foam Cannon
I don’t know why I slept on this thing for so long, but I finally grabbed a foam cannon for my pressure washer and went to town this weekend. Absolute game-changer.
Easy setup: just mix some soap and warm water, snap it into your pressure washer gun, and twist a couple knobs to dial in your foam level and spray pattern. In minutes, your car, driveway, or even your kid’s muddy scooter will look brand new.
➡️ This is the one I bought on Amazon. $20 well spent.

DAD BOD
Under the Hood
Most of us get bloodwork done, glance at the results, and move on. But actually understanding what’s going on under the hood can change the game when it comes to energy, sleep, recovery, and long-term health.
In our first-ever Dad Lab, performance coach Tyler Nicholson broke down what matters and what doesn’t. It’s 30 minutes packed with practical advice every dad should hear.
A couple takeaways you can implement today:
Start resistance training 2–3x/week. It’s one of the most effective ways to improve metabolic health and boost testosterone.
Get your testosterone levels checked. Low T affects sleep, mood, energy, muscle, and libido—and most guys don’t even realize it’s a problem.
