Back at it, gents. Hope the weekend was solid.
March Madness is seeing some underdogs making noise, and just enough chaos to make you feel alive. Let’s get into it.

📕 DAD WISDOM
Pick Up the Bass
I watched a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary on Netflix over the weekend. Highly recommend.
There’s a moment where Flea gets emotional talking about how it all started. Before the Chili Peppers were even a thing, Hillel Slovak asked him to join his band and play bass.
Only problem… Flea didn’t play bass. At all. But Hillel believed in him anyway. So he learned.
Flea came from a broken home. Not a lot of people in his corner. But one person saw something. And that was enough to change everything.
It got me thinking about my own kids.
How often do we wait for them to prove they’re ready before we back them? How often do we hedge a little… manage expectations… soften the landing?
Instead of just saying, “you got this.”
Kids don’t need perfect conditions to rise. They need one person who acts like the outcome is already decided.
Be that person. Loudly. Consistently. Even when they haven’t picked up the bass yet.
Especially then.

RAD DAD
Zach Neal
Golf, coffee, and a quiet morning with his eight-month-old. That’s how the day starts for.
Zach Neal is a former MLB pitcher turned founder of GolfDads, now raising two kids in Fort Worth, Texas. He’s in the thick of it. Early mornings, school drop-offs, building a business, and squeezing in workouts wherever he can.
What’s hit him most isn’t the chaos. It’s how fast it all moves.
Going from zero to one kid was a shift. One to two was a whole different level. The days feel full, but the years somehow move faster. So instead of trying to slow it down, Zach’s learned to lean into it.
His advice is simple. You can’t stop time, so stop fighting it. Enjoy the ride. The small moments are the whole thing.
These days that looks like morning hangs, bedtime stories, and doing his best to stay organized enough to be fully present when it counts.

DAD GEAR
Camcorder for the Kids
Your kids don’t need an iPhone to feel like Spielberg. For $52 (on sale), this scrappy little camcorder gives them just enough tech to make movies without opening the doom-scroll floodgates. Two batteries, flip screen, zoom. It’s creative freedom in plastic form. Not fully analog, but close enough to keep boredom and TikTok out of the house.

DAD BOD
DEXA Scan, Anyone?

Shred season is coming.
Problem is, it’s hard to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you are. Enter the DEXA scan.
For about $99, you lie still for 10 minutes while it maps your body with medical-grade precision, showing body fat percentage, muscle distribution, and even visceral fat around your organs.
It’s equal parts humbling and motivating, but now you’ve got a baseline and a plan instead of vibes.
Find one in your town. Just Google DEXA Scan + Your City.

COMMUNITY
We fired up a WhatsApp Thread. Slack is still home base. This is just a quicker way to connect with other dads.
ICYMI: Two dads in our community built an app called Receipts. Connect your wearable and earn points for every workout. Use those points for deals with popular brands like REI, Lululemon, and more. It’s free. Use code DADDAY for bonus points when you sign up here.
Also, we’re running a Dad Day track inside Receipts. Work out 4 times a week (run, lift, bike, whatever) and you’re entered to win a ticket to our Built for More event (two winners every week). Access code: DADDAY
