PLUS - a whole bunch of dad hacks

Happy Friday, guys. Hope the week was solid. Let’s get into it.

PS: If you’re new here, we mix it up on Fridays with a quick recap from the week and a few extra gems to head into the weekend right.

“I've gotten to jump out of helicopters and do daring stunts and play baseball in a professional stadium, but none of them mean anything compared to being somebody’s daddy.”

FROM THE TRENCHES

Nobody warns you how often you’ll get sick once you’ve got a kid in daycare. One dad in our Slack summed it up perfectly: “I thought summer was supposed to be slower for sickness, but it’s been almost as bad as Jan–March.”

Turns out Hand, Foot & Mouth doesn’t take a summer break. The crew chimed in—14 months seems to be prime time for catching everything, but hang in there, it does get better.

Solidarity to all the dads fighting off colds with one hand and changing diapers with the other.

If you’re not in Slack yet, we’ve got over 200 dads hanging out. It’s all async: ask a question when you can, get gear recs, swap parenting wins, and share tips on everything from fitness to finances. Jump in whenever. No pressure, just good people. It’s free.

Send us what you’re working on

David M. is getting after it with the custom kiddo bulldozer bed. Nice work, David.

Working on something? Reply to this email and send it our way. House Projects, Green Grass, Businesses, Whatever. Would love to feature it. Otherwise, you’ll be looking at my unfinished projects.

WEEKEND BURNER

20-minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible):

  • 5 Pull-ups (or rows/banded pull-ups/substitute dumbbell rows)

  • 10 Push-ups

  • 15 Air Squats

The goal? Keep moving for 20 minutes at a pace you can sustain.

Scale it down:

  • Do 10–15 minutes if you’re short on time.

  • Sub incline push-ups or knee push-ups.

  • Can’t do pull-ups? Rows or resistance bands are fair game.

Free Steak in Every Order For Like

I’m not saying you should sign up just for the free steak… but also, I kinda am.

Good Chop sends high-quality, American-raised grass-fed beef (and other meats) straight to your doorstep. No sketchy sourcing, no last-minute store runs.

Right now they’re doing a wild deal for the Dad Day crew: free steak in every order for life + $30 off your first box.

I tried it — it’s the good stuff. Worth a look.
