Friday again. That was quick.

Today we’ve got a fun one: our March Madness Survivor Pool just went live, we’re sharing what dads say they wish they did more of, and highlighting what a couple of Dad Day readers are building in the Projects section.

Have a great weekend.

Let’s get into it.

PS: If you’re new here, we mix it up on Fridays with a quick recap from the week and a few extra gems to head into the weekend right.

IN THE TRENCHES

Topic: What We Wish We Did More Of

We ran a poll earlier this week asking dads one thing: What do you wish you did more of with your kids right now?

Hundreds of you weighed in and the answer that rose to the top wasn’t about activities or trips.

It was patience.

A few notes from the field:

  • Patience led by a wide margin. One dad said the hardest part is remembering that our kids’ worlds are much smaller than ours. What feels insignificant to us can mean everything to them.

  • Being more present showed up big too. A lot of dads admitted they’d like to put the phone down more and just be there.

  • Playing outside was another common one. Less structure, more fresh air.

  • One-on-one time came up as well, especially as families grow and attention gets divided.

  • And one dad shared something simple but honest: he wishes he could be there for more of the day-to-day moments his wife gets to experience.

Different answers. Same underlying theme. Most dads don’t feel like they need to do more. They just want to show up a little better in the moments they already have.

GARAGE

Send us what you’re working on…

Mixing it up today. Instead of a DIY project… we’re spotlighting something built by two Dad Day subscribers. Shoutout Henry and Victor!

They’ve been grinding away on an app called Receipts and it’s honestly a stupidly good idea.

You work out → you get points.

Connect your wearable (Apple Watch, Garmin, etc). Run, lift, bike, Zumba, whatever.

Every workout earns points you can redeem for discounts, codes, and rewards from brands like Nike, Lululemon, Puma, REI and more.

Think: Credit card points. But for sweating. And it’s free.

A few of us on the Dad Day team have been using it and it’s a complete no-brainer. You’re already working out. Might as well get rewarded for it. It’s free.

Download Receipts and use code DADDAY to get some points right out of the gate.

Nice work, Henry and Victor. Keep building. Get Receipts here.

We want to see your projects. Send ‘em our way! Just reply to this email.
