Grip it and rip it

Plus - breaking the morning routine

Hey y’all! Hope you had a great 4th.

Feels like the Monday after the holiday should be a national rest day. Moving a little slow this morning, but here’s to the week ahead. Let’s get after it.

📕 DAD WISDOM

Prioritize the Little Moments

If you’ve got kids, you’ve probably heard it: “It goes fast.” And then you hear it again. And again. Until it starts sounding like background noise.

But the truth behind it? It’s real. You don’t get to pick when the bedtime stories stop or when they stop reaching for your hand. One day, it just happens.

So here’s the move: prioritize the little stuff.

Jump in on their weird hobbies. Say yes to the walk. Sit with them when they don’t want to talk but don’t want to be alone either. Show up for school drop-off if you can. Be the silly dad at the dinner table. Take the trip, even if it’s chaotic.

They’ll remember you were there. And you will too.

RAD DAD

Chris Long

NFL vet. Two-time Super Bowl champ. Humanitarian. But ask Chris Long what really matters these days? It’s being a dad.

Since hanging up the cleats, Chris has leaned all the way in on fatherhood — whether it’s packing lunches, coaching tee-ball, or just being present. His podcast (Green Light) might pull big guests, and his foundation brings clean water to thousands, but his real MVP moments happen at home.

“You’re not the main character anymore. Your kid is. And that’s actually really freeing.”

Chris Long

That mindset shift? It’s why we think he’s one of the greats — not just on the field, but in the playroom, at school pickup, and in those everyday, ordinary dad moments that matter most. Follow Chris here.

Why Grip Strength Matters

Show Off Nat Geo GIF by National Geographic Channel

Grip strength isn’t just about crushing handshakes or holding onto a barbell.

Studies show it’s one of the strongest indicators of overall health and longevity. Better grip = better muscle endurance, fewer injuries, and even lower risk of cardiovascular issues as you age.

In short: if your grip goes, a lot goes with it.

👉 Watch this quick video to learn why it matters and how to build it.

PS: Here’s a cheap way to test your strength, too
