Hey guys. Happy hump day. Quick update. We swapped out the DAD BOD section today because a bunch of you have been asking where to start or how to invest for your kids.

Apologies if the email runs a little longer than usual, but we think this one’s worth your attention.

📕 DAD WISDOM

Steer the Tribe

Every dad leads a tribe, whether he means to or not. Your energy, your habits, your reactions, and your values all set the tone for the people who look up to you the most.

And maybe your family is already pointed in a good direction. Great. That’s the beauty of it. You’re not flipping the ship. You’re refining the course.

Because part of fatherhood is realizing you have the ability to shift things one degree at a time.

  • More encouragement

  • More patience

  • More “I’m proud of you.”

  • More moments where your kids walk away a little taller because of something you said or did.

You don’t need to overhaul your whole life to change the direction of your tribe. You just need to be intentional with the pieces they absorb from you every day.

Confidence is contagious. Lead in the direction you hope they’ll go. Chances are, they’ll follow.

RAD DAD

Cam Duddy

Midland’s Cam Duddy lives in that strange, wonderful overlap where rock ’n’ roll meets reading logs. One day he’s directing a music video in the desert, the next he’s hustling to the bus stop like every other dad trying to remember if today was library day.

What grounds him isn’t the spotlight…it’s the routine: coffee, drop-off, work, pickup, dinner, kids, bed. The unglamorous stuff that keeps a fast life steady.

What he loves most is watching his kids become their own people. No pushing them toward performance, no “mini musician” agenda, just giving them experiences and letting curiosity do the shaping.

Family dinner is the non-negotiable, whether it’s a properly plated meal or a rotisserie chicken torn apart like hungry wolves. Presence matters more than presentation.

DAD TOYS

Letters of Transit Cigar Set

The easiest “wow” gift for a dad who likes a little ceremony in his downtime.

Ten cigars. Ten cities. One ultra-classy world tour for his palate — crafted by six master blenders across four factories. It’s basically Hemingway’s travel advice… in cigar form.

DAD MONEY

Setting Your Kids Up For Financial Success

Alright dads, quick detour from Dad Bod today. Plenty of you are getting year-end bonuses or finally asking the big question: Where do I even start when it comes to setting my kid up financially?

We use Future Money ourselves, and their CEO Phil Barrar, a brand-new dad, just shared the exact five-step plan he’s using for his own newborn.

Here’s the distilled version.

1. Open a Junior Roth IRA
Future Money’s Junior Roth doesn’t require earned income. It’s built for long-term, tax-advantaged growth from day one. Even ten bucks a week for 18 years can snowball into big-time future money.

2. Set up a 529 and automate it
Fifty dollars a week for 18 years can grow into more than eighty-five thousand dollars. Consistency beats hero deposits. And if a grandparent opens it, your FAFSA odds may actually improve.

3. Claim the new federal starter deposits
Kids born 2025–2028 get a $1,000 dollar federal starter deposit. Some families will get an extra 250 dollars from Michael Dell’s pledge. The account grows untouched until age eighteen.

4. Let family contribute
People already spoil your kid. Give them a way to send gifts directly into the accounts that matter. Twenty bucks now becomes a few hundred later thanks to compounding.

5. Set up a will
Guardianship. Beneficiaries. Making sure everything you’re building actually reaches your kid. Ten minutes. Huge peace of mind.

If you want the easiest on-ramp, Future Money will drop $50 bucks into your kid’s account with code DADGOOD. No minimum.

Future you will thank present you.
