Shoot a Dad a Text

Had lunch with a friend the other day who I met through Dad Day Run Club.

He’s about to have his second kid, and later that night he sent me a screenshot of a text exchange.

He had reached out to another dad and asked how the baby was doing. His buddy’s response was: “Dude. I respect that so much.”

It was such a small thing, but clearly it meant something.

When a new baby arrives, everyone checks on mom, as they should. Everyone asks about the baby, as they should.

But dads can get lost in the shuffle a bit.

So here’s the move today: shoot a dad a text.

Ask how he’s doing. Ask how the family is doing. Sometimes you’ve got to be the guy who gets that kind of thing started.

Might mean more than you think.

Pick Your Fitness Dailies

Your workout plan can change with the seasons, but your baseline shouldn’t. Pick three simple moves…say, 15 pull-ups, 50 push-ups, and 50 air squats, and do them every day, no matter what else is on the schedule.

This isn’t your whole workout; it’s your fitness floor. The exact numbers aren’t magic, but the consistency is: fewer decisions, fewer excuses, more reps over time.

Run the same dailies for a month, then adjust them when your body or goals need a new challenge. Think of it as brushing your teeth, except your chest gets bigger.
